Come, contemplate and feel the power of the Atonement.

As presidency of the Santo Domingo Temple, we want to thank all the workers and participants who come to the House of the Lord and enjoy the ordinances of Salvation in the temple.

Our invitation is for you all to come, I repeat, COME.

President Nelson told us in the October 2018 general conference;

“My dear brothers and sisters, the assaults of the adversary are increasing exponentially, in intensity and in variety.3 Our need to be in the temple on a regular basis has never been greater. I plead with you to take a prayerful look at how you spend your time. Invest time in your future and in that of your family. If you have reasonable access to a temple, I urge you to find a way to make an appointment regularly with the Lord—to be in His holy house—then keep that appointment with exactness and joy. I promise you that the Lord will bring the miracles He knows you need as you make sacrifices to serve and worship in His temples.”1

I love how our Prophet invites us to invest our time by regularly attending the temple. We know that as converts we form the majority of the members of the Church of the Caribbean, and we are responsible to create the culture of the temple within our families. Some ways to build this culture are; place a picture of the temple in a visible place in our house, have conversations about the temple and make plans to take our children to walk through the temple grounds so that they can touch the walls of the temple and have the spirit from the temple touch them.

Family

Last December we arrived for our shift in the temple and met 11 children who had come from San Cristobal with their Primary teachers to see and touch the temple. After greeting them one by one, imagine how it felt while they sang 'I love to see the Temple.'

At that moment we felt as if I were among angels who were indicating to us the importance of the temple in our lives. We are very grateful for the support of parents and leaders in helping young people attend the temple and have reveling spiritual experiences.

Currently due to the worldwide pandemic of Covid-19, the Temple of Santo Domingo, like the other Temples of the world, will remain closed until conditions allow them to be reopened.

Through fasting and prayer, our understandings of genealogical work will be open, and it is a propitious occasion to find the data of our relatives who are on the other side of the veil.

Thanks to this quarantine time Sister Lee and I are very excited about the advancement in the work of several generations of ancestors that we have encountered.

Just as we have felt great joy in finding our ancestors, we know that on the other side of the veil there is also joy for those who have long waited for the work to be done in their favor.

Thank you for your faith in coming to the Lord's house as you accept the invitation of President Russell M. Nelson.

With love,

The Presidency of the Temple of Santo Domingo
