Supporting Children and Youth: A Broadcast for Parents and Leaders

Children and Youth was first launched in January of 2020. Soon after, the pandemic forced changes and accommodations to Church programs around the world. A special broadcast on June 6 will provide parents and leaders with useful resources as they begin to reintegrate children and youth activities where appropriate.

President M. Russell Ballard, acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and General Officers will talk about opportunities to bless youth and children as areas come out of the pandemic.

“One of our highest priorities continues to be strengthening the rising generation’s faith in Jesus Christ, and helping children, youth and their families progress along the covenant path as they meet life’s challenges,” said Elder Michael T. Ringwood, a General Authority Seventy with assignments over youth and children programs. “As the world begins to slowly emerge from pandemic restrictions, we hope this broadcast will revitalize parents’ and leaders’ efforts to bless our young people as they begin to reengage in normal activities.”

Youth quorum and class presidencies and parents and leaders of youth and children are invited to participate in this presentation.

The broadcast and training segments will be useful resources for parents and leaders as they begin to reintegrate children and youth activities.

How to Watch

The one-hour presentation, as well as segments for specific audiences, will be available at Caribbean Facebook and YouTube pages, and at Caribbean.ChurchofJesusChrist.org. The presentation will include practical ideas for engaging in the Children and Youth program as families and in wards. It can be used in families, ward and stake councils, stake youth leadership committees, ward youth councils, Aaronic Priesthood quorum and Young Women class presidency meetings, and other settings.

On June 6, 2021, the presentation will be available in English and American Sign Language beginning at 4:00 p.m. mountain daylight time.

Beginning June 18 at midnight mountain daylight time, the presentation will be available in Cantonese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

Area presidencies will counsel with Area Seventies and stake leaders to determine and publicize a date and time to watch the presentation and launch the instructional segments in their area.
