On July 23, 2017, the Trinidad Port of Spain Stake celebrated their Seminary and Institute graduation. The event was attended by 78 people. Three students completed all four years of Seminary and two others completed one year in the program. Additionally, two institute students completed the Institute program.
Brother Christopher Danzell, second counselor in the stake presidency commented: “The Port-of-Spain Trinidad Stake, Seminary and Institute graduation was, in my mind, a spirit filled moment. The youth and young adult speakers, of whom I've interacted with over a period of time, showed a side of themselves that I have never seen. They delivered their talks and testimonies in what they know to be true with confidence. It is a testimony to me that the Seminary and Institute programs are having a positive influence in their lives and the principles and doctrines being taught will, when applied, prepare them for the road ahead.”
The Objective of Seminaries and Institutes of Religion is to help youth and young adults understand and rely on the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven.
