We all need General Conference

As sons and daughters of God, from our birth we are subjected to the trials and challenges of this earthly state, as well as opportunities to learn and acquire experiences that will allow us to reach, if we wish, our greatest potential.

In ancient and modern times, one of humanity's greatest challenges has been to live on every word that comes from the mouth of God, through His chosen ones. There are tangible examples in the Scriptures, of the consequences obtained as individuals or people, when we chose to ignore the counsel of the prophets, in other words, the counsel of God.

The Book of Mormon teaches us how it was difficult for King Benjamin to see that the generation that followed him was losing the knowledge of God and His commandments, which had been taught to them by their parents. These times are not different from those of King Benjamin and this is why we need God's constant guidance to lead us in life, in order to return safely to our heavenly home.

One of the ways we receive this guidance is through the General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which takes place every six months, being an event open to everyone.

Presidente Russel M. Nelson

In the General Conference, inspired messages are shared, with advices and instructions that will help us overcome the challenges of life and obtain the answers to the questions from the heart.

In order to be prepared to receive personal revelation during the General Conference, we invite you to follow these simple ideas:

  1. Pray and ponder the questions that occupy your mind and your heart
  2. Listen to the talks taking these questions into account
  3. Do all your chores before the conference and focus on listening
  4. Get plenty of rest so that your mind is ready to receive inspiration
  5. Take notes of the impressions, whispers and ideas from the Spirit as they are being received.
  6. Review and ponder the messages again. It is possible that new impressions come to your mind and your heart with this review.

You can see the event on the internet by visiting the Caribbean Area website, Caribe.lds.org
