What will happen on the International Day of Service 2018?

Thousands of volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints along with dozens of state entities, NGOs and other organizations, will join on Saturday, November 3 in an important number of community projects under the slogan of an 'International Day of Service'.

It is the sixth version of the initiative sponsored by the Volunteer 'Helping Hands' of The Church of Jesus Christ together with other organizations, which includes community orientation days for children and adolescents, medical operations, dental fairs, restoration of houses, cleaning and painting of streets, parks and other public places, among other activities aimed at community service.

'The International Service Day is a solidarity and voluntary event of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in collaboration with other religious organizations, city ​​councils, National Police, community leaders, the Ministry of Public Health, among other government entities, in order to join efforts in the development of community service of great social impact throughout the national geography and the Caribbean region, 'said David Carvajal, director of public affairs of the Church in the Dominican Republic.

He stressed that this is not an exclusive initiative for the members of the Church, but seeks to integrate all people of good will in a common cause for the good of their communities.
